December is already halfway through, and 2019 has officially come to an end. Today’s textile people are most concerned about the holiday. Bosses pay close attention to the shutdown times of various weaving, printing and dyeing, and finishing factories to make production arrangements, while employees and workers decide when to go home for the New Year.
However, the early Spring Festival holiday cannot be decided at a glance. Even if the textile market is not good this year, the textile market at the end of the year will not be as good as in previous years. Because the impact and even consequences of an earlier holiday will not be weaker than in previous years, no textile person is willing to face this kind of “adding insult to injury” situation.
Holiday time Look at peers, let’s release together
“It’s not that I don’t want to release it in advance, but I don’t dare to release it.” Many weaving bosses in the market have this feeling. The textile market has not been good this year, and many weaving factories have deeply felt this. The price of gray fabrics has dropped again and again, and the inventory of gray fabrics has become higher and higher. Especially those conventional fabric manufacturers, which have the largest scale and deepest roots, and are also the most affected. Taking an early Spring Festival holiday to reduce costs and ease inventory is currently the best option, but the actual situation is that we dare not let it go at all.
The person in charge of a weaving factory that owns more than 300 water-jet looms and produces polyester taffeta, pongee, and satin told us that their market has not been very good this year. , all the products we are working on are basically in stock. We planned to have a Spring Festival holiday in November, but we haven’t set a specific holiday time yet. The first person to take a holiday is “the first to eat crabs.” All the factories in their area are unwilling to be the first. The specific holiday time will need to be discussed with the heads of all surrounding factories and a time will be set for everyone to have a holiday together.
The main reason why we are not willing to take the initiative to take the first holiday lies with the workers. On the one hand, workers whose wages are based on output will see their incomes decrease due to early leave. This decrease in income will increase workers’ dissatisfaction with the factory. Those workers who earn several thousand dollars a month will compete with their bosses for the 20 yuan assessment. Even if they only have holidays a few days earlier than other factories, they will still be dissatisfied with the reduction in income.
On the other hand, the main problem is the loss of workers. Once workers become dissatisfied with the factory, they will naturally think of leaving their jobs. In addition, you will have plenty of time during the early vacation, so you can take this opportunity to visit nearby companies that are producing and look for better and more suitable job opportunities. Nowadays, the recruitment situation is grim. No factory wants to be troubled with recruitment issues at the beginning of next year. Naturally, the holidays will be synchronized with other factories and there will be no such worries.
Dyeing Factory The operating rate has dropped, but we don’t dare to take a holiday.
The operating rate of many dyeing factories in the market this year is lower than in previous years, and many machines and equipment are in a state of shutdown. Workers’ working hours have also been adjusted from “two shifts” to “three shifts.” However, workers in dyeing factories rarely leave their jobs due to reduced working hours and lower incomes. This is because other dyeing factories on the market have such working hours, and there is no need to switch back and forth.
Dyeing factories do not need to overly consider workers’ issues during holidays, but another issue cannot be ignored, and that is customer issues. An old dyeing factory in Wujiang has been very busy all year round in previous years, especially at the end of the year and the beginning of the year. It is very common for goods to be shipped within half a month or even a month. However, the operating rate is not high throughout this year. Although it is the peak season at the end of the year, it is only about 70-80%.
Now the time for their Spring Festival holiday has been decided. The factory will have New Year’s Eve dinner together on January 13, and the holiday will be around January 7-8. Compared with previous years, there is not much difference, both in the first half of the month.
The operating rate has been low, but they did not take the holiday in advance. On the one hand, although the operating rate is not high, there are still customers and orders. Of course, the most important reason is the fear of losing customers. Dyeing factories usually stop production during the Spring Festival to determine when the thermal power station will stop gas. If the gas dyeing factory stops production before it stops, it will inevitably make the outside world confused and even suspect that there is a problem with the factory’s production. Customer churn is bound to happen.
It seems that the textile market is not stable Well, is it the consensus of all factories to have early holidays, but in fact it is not easy to actually take this step. Workers and customers have always been important resources for the survival of various companies, but having holidays in advance of other factories will lead to the loss of these important resources. Compared with the off-season, the factory can still survive, but without workers and customers, a day is difficult. </p
