Fire retardant fabric and flame retardant fabric CPAI84 tent flame retardant standards involve products including all tent types (camping tents and indoor tents). Some other outdoor products also refer to CPAI84 as flame retardant requirements. According to the CPAI84 standard, tent materials are divided into: bottom materials, wall and top materials according to different locations of use.
> For bottom materials, CPAI84 stipulates horizontal combustion measurement. The test steps are as follows:
1) Place the test cabinet in the fume hood and place the sample support frame in the test cabinet;
2) Pierce a 6mm hole in the center of the test sample;
3) Place the sample on the sample support frame to make it level and flat, then place the ignition source methylamine tablet on the sample , the distance from the small hole in the sample is no more than 3mm;
4) Ignite the methylamine tablet and observe the test;
5) When all burning stops, ventilate, test the damaged length of the sample, and record the data.
Judgment of test results:
When the test sample is tested according to the method in Part 5 of this standard, whether it is the original sample, or a sample that has been soaked in water or aged, any test The damaged length of the sample cannot exceed 72mm.
> For wall and roof materials, CPAI 84 stipulates vertical combustion measurement. The test steps are as follows:
1) Install the sample on the sample clamp and hang it in the test cabinet. The lowest point of the sample is at a distance from the upper end of the fire source pipe. is 20mm;
2) Adjust the height of the fire source to 38mm (±3mm) (the test gas is methane);
3) Start the instrument, move the fire source directly below the sample, and burn for 12 seconds. Remove the fire source and record the afterburning time;
4) After the combustion is completed, take out the sample and measure the damaged length of the sample;
Test result judgment:
When the test sample After testing by the method in Section 6 of this standard, whether it is the original sample, or a sample that has been soaked in water or aged: 1) the afterburning time of any test sample shall not exceed 4 seconds, and the average afterburning time shall not exceed 2 seconds.
