Hello everyone
Many scheming boys are worried about the problem that summer T-shirts are not durable and easy to deform after washing. The same goes for T-shirts that sell for hundreds or thousands of dollars.
A good T-shirt should be comfortable and textured to wear, and should be washable, durable and not easily deformed. This depends on its fabric material, weight and workmanship details. , the version has certain requirements▼
1. Fabric material
The first thing to consider when choosing a T-shirt for daily wear Just look at the fabrics. The most common T-shirt fabrics are roughly: pure cotton, polyester, and cotton-fiber blends
①. Pure cotton fabric is more comfortable and skin-friendly , has good moisture absorption, heat dissipation and air permeability, but is easy to wrinkle and absorb dust, and has poor acid resistance;
Pure cotton fabrics are also divided into combed cotton and ordinary cotton. Combed cotton is used in textiles There is an additional delicate combing process to remove short fibers and impurities, so that the single yarn length is more resilient and the quality is better after being woven into clothes. It is not easy to pill, stretch and deform when worn, and it is more shiny and has a good texture. :
②.PolyesterThat is, polyester fiber: smooth to the touch, strong and durable, good elasticity, not easy to deform, corrosion-resistant, easy to wash and quick-drying (some people in Guangdong It is jokingly called “really cool” in Cantonese), but the fabric is smooth and close-fitting and is easily reflective, making it look poor to the naked eye;
③. SpandexThe material properties are not easy to wrinkle and fade, have high stretchability and shape retention It has good resistance to acid, alkali and abrasion resistance. It is commonly used in small quantities when blended with cotton. Such fabrics feel cooler, smoother and less likely to deform;
④.There are also flax, acrylic, and silk Wait, the former fabric is prone to wrinkles, and it has an antique flavor when worn on the body. It is not very beautiful when used on T-shirts. The latter has poor ventilation and permeability, is easily deformed and generates static electricity, and silk is too close-fitting and is suitable for use as pajamas. Modal is also a man-made fiber that easily collapses and is not suitable for T-shirts worn alone;
It is recommended that T-shirt fabrics for daily wear in summer should be combed cotton fabrics with a certain weight, or blended fabrics such as cotton + spandex, Cotton + modal, for example, about 95% combed cotton + 5% others; sports T-shirt fabrics can be made of polyester fiber.
Little knowledge:There are several common characteristics of pure cotton T-shirts: floating hair/floating color/shrinkage. As long as the T-shirt fabrics currently on the market are made of pure cotton, there will be floating lint, floating color, and shrinkage in almost every early wash.
. The floating hair is like a newly bought pure cotton T-shirt. I washed it in a white washbasin and found that some of it was very small. The floating hair;
. Floating colors are common in dark fabrics, such as black, burgundy, etc., if If you want to achieve no floating color, the color fastness (color fastness) level of the clothes must be at least level 4 or above (most ordinary T-shirts are level 2~3);
The shrinkage rate is generally pure due to the characteristics of the fabric.’s T-shirts will have a shrinkage rate of 3% after the first wash (affected by the material and weaving method/combed cotton is better), so when buying pure cotton clothes, you don’t need to ask whether it will shrink. Maybe you bought a fake cotton T-shirt…
You can say floating hair, floating color, shrinkage These three characteristics of cotton fabrics are present in 99% of them and have nothing to do with price. Generally, it is a normal phenomenon to appear in the early stage and will decrease/disappear with the number of wearing and washing.
2. Gram weight/count
①. Gram weight (g) does not refer to the weight of a piece of clothing, it refers to the gram weight of fabric per square meter. Don’t be stupid and buy the clothes, weigh them, and then run to the boss. Say the weight of your T-shirt is wrong….
Gram weight can also be understood It is the thickness of the clothes. The higher the grammage of the fabric, the thicker the clothes. On the contrary, the lower the grammage, the thinner. If it is too thin, it will reveal the point↓
The reasonable weight of a T-shirt should be In the range of 160g~300g, higher weight is used for sweatshirts;

②. Count (S)
The count is a formula for yarn. The higher the count, the finer the yarn, and the softer and lighter the fabric is. The common count for T-shirts is 18~ In the 50 range, higher thread counts are usually used for dress shirts or woolen suit fabrics.
About the weight and count of summer T-shirts, the higher the better, because if the weight is high, the T-shirt will be too thick and easy to feel stuffy when worn, and if the count is too high, it will be too soft and light. It will show spots and is not washable (for example, although the 160g/40-count version is softer and more comfortable, it is definitely not as washable and durable as the 250g/32-count version, but the latter is not as comfortable and light as the former).
It is recommended to choose 160~200g/count 30~40 range for base layer. For outer wear, choose 200~300g/count 20~36.
3. Fabric technology
T-shirts commonly have two processes: plain and brushed:
①. Sanding process in texture There is a layer of small fluff on the surface, which makes the upper body more comfortable and skin-friendly. However, the fabric will look a bit “reflective” under the light, which always makes people feel that the color of the clothes is uneven. It has a retro-style sense of déjà vu, and another one is It sticks to the body easily when you sweat;
②. Conventional plain weave process does not have sanding So skin-friendly, but not so easy to absorb dust, simple and easy to take care of;
Which T-shirt to choose from these two craftsmanship depends on personal preferences and needs. For example, if you are looking for comfort or like to match American retro Ami khaki and other styles, you can consider ordinary/heavyweight T-shirts with brushed craftsmanship. If you like simplicity, For easy care, choose regular plain de
