New flame-retardant and waterproof one-bath finishing process for new textile fabrics
In the past ten years, the functional textile market has developed rapidly, and functional fabrics with various unique selling points have emerged one after another. In addition to satisfying the basic functions of covering up ugliness and beautifying the market, textiles, especially functional textiles, are constantly expanding their functional added value. For example: waterproof fabrics, flame retardant fabrics, antibacterial fabrics, scented fabrics, anti-mosquito fabrics, thermal storage and thermal fabrics, etc. Not only can it be used in various general consumer fields, but it can also be used in various walks of life, such as life, industry, medical care, military, transportation, etc. The market potential is huge.
Among the many functions of textile fabrics, many of them require separate processing. The simultaneous use of two or more functional additives will most likely cause various defects and problems due to compatibility and physical and chemical properties. The more common defects include: precipitation, oil drift, delamination, blistering, incompatibility, spots, color flowers, sediments and other conflict problems. But at the same time, due to the improvement of environmental protection and energy saving thresholds, the processing of multiple additives in the same bath is a major trend in the future. The same-bath finishing with multiple additives can significantly save production costs and time costs for printing and dyeing enterprises. In this issue, we mainly screen and analyze the application cases of “waterproof + flame retardant” two-in-one finishing.
It is not difficult to make waterproof or flame retardant alone. Just choose the appropriate product and produce it according to the padding process. However, the processing technology of waterproof + flame retardant combined into one is not simple. First of all, not all waterproofing agents and flame retardants are suitable for two-in-one processing. Products with the same ionicity are screened and each individual stability and two-in-one miscibility stability are tested one by one. Secondly, good compatibility of waterproofing agents and flame retardants should be used in different amounts to balance the “degree” between the waterproofing and flame retardant effects. Waterproofing must meet the requirements, and flame retardant must also meet the requirements. Let’s take a look at the specific methods of 100-point waterproofing + flame-retardant B1 level process before washing:
detailed steps:
1. Weighing materials
1.1 Cut the experimental cloth to 300×21cm size and set aside
1.2 Take a beaker to the electronic scale and clear it to zero, weigh 4g of the flame retardant FUNCTEX (Fix) F-4870 (after conversion according to the dosage), pour it into the beaker, add a small amount of water and stir evenly;
1.3 Weigh 20g of the three-proof finishing agent ANFONE RH-4869 (after conversion based on dosage), pour it into a beaker, add water to 200g, stir evenly, and set aside.
1.4 Specific formula:
4g Flame retardant FUNCTEX (Fix) F-4870
20g Three-proof finishing agent ANFONE RH-4869
176g water

200g total
2. Padding process
One dip and one rolling, the liquid carrying rate is 80%
3. Drying
Put in the oven, 170℃×1 minute
4. Test
4.1 Waterproof test, test and take samples according to the steps of “AATCC22-2005 Textile Water Repellency Test Spray Method”
4.1.1 Waterproof evaluation standard: refer to the AATCC 22 water level chart (Table 1 below) to evaluate the waterproof performance
